Please help in ID of a cultivated tree seen at Empress Garden, Pune. Medium sized evergreen erect tree, 6 m tall; branches trailing. Leaves pinnate, 30-40 cm long; leaflets 9-11, 15-20 cm, opposite, oblanceolate, acuminate, dark green, glabrous. No flowers/fruits seen for last 2/3 years, may be because the tree is in shade of a large tree.

Could it be Pithraj Tree (Aphanamixis polystachya)?

Can’t be sure though…

Could it be lichi? Please go through the link.

Could it be Putranjiva roxburghii? Or are the leaves not trailing enough?

Any possibility of this being Castanospermum australe??

what you do just go and check whether the bark turn red when itched with knife. if yes thn must be Aphanamixis polystachya

This could most probably be Aphanamixis polystachya (Meliaceae) only.
But before confirming please follow what Dr Anil Kumar suggested that is the field character for the species.
