Habit- Vine
Habitat- Wild

Location- Mulshi, Pune
Date- 4 th Sep 2011.

Looks like a species of Argyria of Convolvulaceae family on Bridelia retusa. Any close up picture/s of flower/inflorescence and any information on whether the leaves and other parts are hairy or not.

…, I took these pics at full zoom. I couldn’t take any closer picture. I just know  that the leaves were smooth from above.
It looked like Argyreia elliptica to me.

… looking at some of the leaves in all the mix of plants, they do look that of *Argyreia elliptica*.
These are morning bloomers … around and post noon, they lose their glory.
Please take a look some of my views of Argyreia elliptica at flickr… comparison.

Loved yr pics  of Argyreia elliptica. Yes in those mixed leaves I can too spot leaves of Argyreia elliptica. And  I definately clicked these pics post noon.

One related post by … and it has been identified as A. elliptica.
Apparently this species is not listed in “the plant list” or GRIN.
I could not find this species of Argyreia in my literature collections as well.
But the characters of this plant is agreeing with the description of Lettsomia elliptica (synonym mentioned in the message) in Gamble flora (Vol II, Page 910) . This species is also not mentioned in either in “the plant list” or GRIN.

Please check this name kappatheega  …listed at ENVIS – FRLHT for Lettsomia elliptica.

Moning Glory, possibly Argyreia Species near Bangalore.
The picture has been taken by my son during a trek to one of the mountains around Bangalore.
There is just one picture.

To me appears close.

Thanks a lot for suggested id.
To me, it looks closer to Argyreia involucrata.

First image at the stated site is different from correct 2nd and 3rd image. I have left the comment accordingly.
Pl. check the sepals at the herbarium specimen of Argyreia involucrata at
http://convolvulaceae.myspecies.info/content/argyreia-involucrata-1
These are much different from your posted image.

I think there is a mismatch between the first set of photos (two) and the present one.  Perhaps belong to two different plants, looking at the fruits seen in the first batch of photos. Hence the ID suggested is for the latest one I believe is correct. … may clarify.
