Avicennia marina@Devbagh Karwar: Avicennia marina
I spotted these in plenty at Devbagh mangroves Karwar.
I hope the ID is correct as the apex of the leaves appears acute. I didn’t observe any capsules.
Please validate.

… me too believe it to be A. marina (family: Acanthaceae) based on acute-apex leaf and inserted stamens.

Mangrove for ID : Oman : 120612 : AK-2: Pictures taken in Muscat on 25/5/12., growing along the coast.

Very tiny yellow flowers and green fruits.

Avicennia?

… must be Avicennia alba … (synonym of Avicennia marina subsp. marina as per The Plants List of family Acanthaceae, also placed in Avicenniaceae)

Infact it is Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh.
Recently I have again borrowed the book ‘Field Guide to the Wild Plants of Oman’ by Helen Pickering & Annette Patzelt….Kew Publishing
Found the id in the book.

I am trying to find the correct names of all wild flowers taken here.

Requesting to please validate the ID (Avicennia marina) of this mangrove captured in Salim Ali WLS, Goa in May 2014.

To me this appears to be Avicennia officinalis.

Kindly share more images of leaves if possible. In case of A.officinalis, the leaves are obtuse.

Thanks … for the prompt feedback.

Unfortunately these are the only pics I have. I based by guess on the stamens…..although I think they may not be enough to come to the right ID…. In future, I shall be more mindful when taking pics.

Avicennia officinalis

your identification is validated it is Avicennia marina because of structures of the flowers

Thank you … Attached are cropped pics of the above flower and of Avicennia officinalis that I had observed in Konkan around the same period. This might help in validation.
