I too stand for Barringtonia asiatica of Lecythidaceae family, as … pointed out. The flower buds are totally different than any Calliandra vars. I go for Barringtonia racemosa. even i think, Barringtonia sp. Looking at the flower it is Barringtonia asiatica. Very common tree in west coast (Bombay). Better to check the characters of the leaves as well as the fruits for confirmation. Leaves 20-40 cm, obovate, coriaceous, sessile, crowded at the end of branches. Flowers in terminal erect corymbose racemes 30-50 cm long.
