Barringtonia : 1 post by 1 author.

I have updated eFI (efloraofindia) page on Barringtonia.

Attempts have been made to incorporate most of the species available in India & nearby areas with details & keys directly or through links as far as possible.

Species discussed so far in efloraofindia are given at the bottom of the page in the form of links against Subpages. On clicking them one can see all the details.

Any comments/ corrections are welcome.

Barringtonia page with images of species in efloraofindia : 4 posts by 2 authors.
Pl. go through Barringtonia page with images of species in efloraofindia (done by Bhagyashri ji).

If you find any mis-identification, pl. let us know.
If anybody can send images of other species of this genera (for incorporation in the website), it will be really nice. Also, if anybody is interested to take up the activity of inserting images on efloraofindia pages from efloraofindia posts, pl. let us know.

I am happy to see the Barringtonia page, particularly seeing the two images of B. asiatica which I posted. Here I would like to point out that there are two more species, viz. B. pendula and B. reticulata are occurring in India as per the following reference. The necessary additions may kindly be made. I have no soft copy of the paper at present but I will scan it and will send to you when I visit CNH next.
CHAKRABARTY, T. AND M. K. VASUDEVA RAO. 1984. Barringtonia pendula and B. reticulata ( Lecythidaceae) in India. J. Econ. Taxon. Bot. 5: 955 – 956.
