Request from Bangalore!: … We are a centre of excellence in traditional knowledge and medicinal plants and work under Ministry of Environment and Forest Project. As a part of herbarium activity we make educational materials as attached below. Thus far we have made 11 such posters. This year we plan to come out with poster on Daaruharidra and with this respect i seek your help in photographs of Berberis lycium, Berberis aristata and Berberis asiatica. We print about 250 posters and distribute free of cost to all the edicational and research institutes. The photo could show habit, habitat and close up for flowers and fruits that will help in identification. Every photographs will be duly acknowledged.

I had 3 days trip to Manali and surrounding areas. I got the herbarium of Berberis aristata and B. lyceum. A special thanks to Dr. S. S. Samant, GB Pant Institute, who had identified these plants. I also had a discussion with Dr. Sekaran, Kullu. Thanks for Sekaran also for his keys to confirm the identity of these plants.
