requesting identification of this Bougainvillea spp at Pune at a private society garden. is this Bougainvillea glabra?

Nice pictures. Can’t tell the differences amongst species though.

Read page18 of Today’s Pune mirror for the article on Bougainvillea

Thank you … for the appreciation and the article in Pune Mirror by Gauri Dange. Yes the beautiful blooms do bring a smile on one’s face and also a safe home for many small birds.

I tried to come to some conclusion about the species taking help from Bougainvillea species pg 19 ‘ of http://www.askmar.com/Bougainvilleas/Bougainvilleas.pdf
but was still confused.

Very likely to be Bougainvillea glabra
Nice close-up of the flowers … and the pdf file is very informative.

Seen at a plant nursery on 2/1/15. Variegated leaves and purple flowers. Ornamental, potted plant.

It looks like Bougainvillea glabra

Bougainvillea spectabilis  Willd.

I doubt this being Bougainvillea spectabilis Willdenow. May be B. glabra as per keys at Flora of China as perianth tube looks distinctly angled though can not be seen in this image.

Thanks … for the validation. I will return to this post in one / two weeks’ time. I will get more pictures of the flower of the same plant.

Bougainvillea glabra  Choisy
Dear friends,
These flowers are one of my favourites; please excuse me for putting all of them together – perhaps each is a cultivar colour-wise. I just need to know that all of these are Bougainvillea glabra. These are from the resort at Jaisalmer. I hope the difference in species can be made out from such fair distance.

Dear all, please ignore “Sam sand dunes” in the subject line.

May be as per details and keys at
