Hopefully you may help me with a rather strange problem. I found your address in the Purdue site above when looking for the name of my exotic houseplant. 
Could my plant belong to the Chlorophytum species? Please find my three pictures of the plant attached.

Can it be some Orchidaceae member ?

This should be an Iris!!
