May I request this plant for ID.

Date/Time-30-May-2009, 4.30pm

Location- Place, Altitude, GPS- Bannerghatta Forest, Bangalore, elev 3039 ft, 

12″ 46′  12.97″N,  77″35′ 13.99″E 

Habitat- Garden/ Urban/ Wild/ Type-Wild / Moist deciduous, Rock hills

Plant Habit- Tree/ Shrub/ Climber/ Herb-No hard stems, Probably a herbHeight/Length-approx – 40 cms

Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size- Shape –Palmated,   venation -reticulate, leaf edge-entire, Size -Bigger than our palm,.8 inches approx.

Inflorescence Type/ Size-As seen

Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts-As seen

Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds- Not observed

Other Information like Fragrance, Pollinator, Uses etc.- Not observed


To me it appears to be some Begonia species.?


to me it appears like sapling of the tree Cochlospermum religiosum, though i am not very sure. And the white structure is hairy tomentum on young foliage, not an inflorescence. I haven’t observed this feature in the species so far. Thank you.
