This is a species of Corchorus.

can it be Corchorus trilocularis?

This has been discussed before on this forum. It is vey difficult to make a diagnosis in this case without seeing the fruit.

Herb for Id : 230912 RV 3: Please help to Id this herb…….found in wild in the same area of Khopoli/Pali near Mumbai.

May be Corchorus olitorius, but corchorus fruits striations and tip need to be check, before any conclusion.

It should be a Corchorus species. But without seeing fruit it is difficult to confirm Corchorus olitorius L. or Corchorus aestuans.
I think it is more close to Corchorus aestuans L. than C. olitorius

Edible Jute : 2 posts by 2 authors.
I was told “Mulokiya (egyptian spinach)” is a edible form of jute. The leaves are supposed to contain tons of nutrients. Is all varieties of jute plants edible? Can you let me know how to differentiate the corchorus varieties which are edible in nature. One of these is growing wild in my garden and would like to confirm before eating.

Could you pl. post your pictures for identification ?
