Thats … for the id. I was thinking what does Cynarospermum could possibly mean?
Cynarium says “remedy for eye trouble”. May be the seeds are used in some eye troubles?
Any idea?

You are right. Blephar means Eyelids. Blepharitis is the inflammation of eye lid follicles and Blepharis asperrima is used for Blepharitis. (Doctrine of signatures)
