This plant is seen near forested hillock (Yerrakonda) near Thamballapalle in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and seen near Rayalpadu, Chikballapur district of Karnataka.
Fruits are seen in August
Habitat was Red Loamy Soils, rocky, drought prone

The fruits are slightly bigger than a coffee fruit (1.6-1.9 diameter) Please check for Catunaregam sps (syn. Randia sps) It looks like Deccania pubescens var. candolleana (Wight & Arn.) Tirveng., Syn. Randia candolleana Wight & Arn. of Rubiaceae; it is common in E.ghats, Normally not spiny but thorns are occasionally seen. Please check for Catunaregam sps (syn. Randia sps)
