I think these are the pods of the Rosewood tree.
Experts plz confirm. Sorry I have one photo only, it is from Nagla region in Thane.

These look like the pods of Derris scandens.
Requesting to please ID these white flowers fallen on the forest floor after nearly 2 weeks of heavy rains on the Shilonda Trail, SGNP, Mumbai in June 2013.

These are flower may be of Karanj (Pongamia pinnata flowers) or Derris scandens.
Both the plants are very common in Shilonda trails. One is tree and other is woody climber.
To verify please look around and find out the habit of the plant.

I think it’s more likely to be Derris scandens, as it is blooming all over the area now.  Pongamia flowering is mostly over.

Thanks … I will be visiting Shilonda again next week, hopefully will get to see the flowers again…

I visited the place again with the TAW team this weekend. They confirmed that this is Derris scandens

Please help me in identifying this straggler found growing trees in a dry area. Is this a Dalbergia sp.?
Pod: 5 cm long
Place: Vettangudi BS, Sivagangai dist., TN
Alt.: 110 m asl
Date: 05 Mar 2014

Yes. It is Dalbergia.

Could this be Dalbergia volubilis?

This is not Alai [Dalbergia volubilis] some of my photographs of which are available at this link

This is possibly the Forest Bean Stalk [Derris scandens].

My photographs of Forest Beanstalk [Derris scandens] for comparison.

Derris looks matching. Do D.scandens have thorns?

my plant is unarmed

Derris scandens is an unarmed large climber
Couldn’t trace any of my previous mails with photographs of the pods of Alai [Dalbergia volubilis] in the archives of this group, so am sending some taken on my property at Shahapur yesterday for comparison. Attachments (5).

Kindly identify this bush photographed in the Pakkamalai Reserve Forest, Tamil Nadu in September 2014.

The 3-4 metres tall bushes formed an impenetrable thicket. Creamy white flowers about 8-10 mm long.

Derris scandens, I think.
