look for pits in glumes if absent then it is Dichanthium otherwise Bothriochloa Yes it is Dichanthium annulatum

it seems to be Dichanthium sp. not Chloris sp.? …, please provide more details of the grass and if you have whole plant and leaf pics, kindly share Thanks … I will do if I find It seems to be Dichanthium annulatum (Forssk.) Stapf should be Dichanthium annulatum. See if the node has white hairs all around.

Though there are several differences, Dichanthium annulatum and Bothriochloa intermedia can be easily differentiated by rubbing the inflorescence with your fingers and smelling them.
