Kindly confirm the identification. The tree has been growing at our house in Hyderabad since the 1980s and this is the first time we saw it flowering. The flowers had an intense “Raat-ki-rani” fragrance evident only in the late evening and night.
Height of tree: about 9 metres. Florescence: about 60-80 cms long. Fruit: spherical about 1 cm diameter. Yes, it is Dracaena fragrans. Very good pictures.

It was a great surprise to us when this tree flowered but very quickly we were afflicted by nasal allergy by the strong fragrance.

Ornamental? It was on road side. Appears to be an ornamental plant. Unable to recall the family name also. … just a guess: is it some Dracaena ? At the outset it looks like a species of Drocena. Dracaena or Drocena ? Guess matches with some Dracaena but could not confirm ID ! Dracaena. Pl. Check comparative images in efi. I think closer to images at Dracaena fragrans (L.) Ker Gawl. as per comparative images at Dracaena Does Dracaena fragrans produce berries. Of course yes. https://garden.org/plants/photo/316314/. There are many varieties in this species. I get the flowers only on my plant.
Location Rajnagar Kumarghat Unakoti district Tripura This appears to be one of the varieties of the ornamental Dracaena deremensis in fruit. Dracaena deremensis Engl. is a synonym of Dracaena fragrans (L.) Ker Gawl.
