‘Maan Sevi’ meaning ‘Ear of Deer’, and also called Tael Kadipoondu; ‘Vander Roti’ ‘वांदर रोटी’ in Marathi;
 

Subshrubs; branchlets angled above. Leaves alternate, to 14 x 8 cm, obovate to oblanceolate, base cuneate, apex obtuse, entire. Corymbs terminal. Heads homogamous, cylindric, 1.5 cm. Florets to 2.5 cm long; corolla cream or yellowish, tube to 18 mm. Achene linear or oblong, to 5.5 mm, ribbed; pappus 1.5 cm.       

Flowering and fruiting: August-May

I am sorry. I did not see any fruits. Shall do so next visit.


This may be Kleinia grandiflora (= Notonia g.) of Asteraceae.
Tamil name: கண்ணாடிக்கள்ளி Kannaadikkalli, முயல் காது இலை Muyal kaadhu ilai (meaning rabbit’s ears in allusion to the shape of leaf)

This is not Euphorbiaceae though there are resemblances in stem. This is Kleinia grandiflora of Asteraceae, flowers clearly show a receptacle and florets in a composit head.

Kleinia grandiflora occasional at dry tracts of peninsular India.
