It seems that this species shows lots of variation both inflorescence and leaves. .

Lepidagathis cuspidata: This is very interesting. The local people call it Kate Adulsa and Adulsa is for Adathoda I assume. Kate if you translate in Latin is “cuspidate” means spine bearing or pointed. So basically locals know that they belong to same family without any professional botanical expertise. Habitat: semi-evergreen forest
Habit: Erect shrub, 3feet tall
Overall plant covered with stiff hairs.
Leaves: Opposite, ovate, sessile, tip acute ending in an acute spine. Size: 2cm x 1cm
Flowers: Creamish white, axillary
Bracts: Lanceolate, terminating in an acute spine.
Sepals: covered with stiff hairs – hair tips ending in glands(?)
