Yes, I agree with the id…
This majestic water plant almost resembling a standing peacock was seen at Anashi WLS, Karnataka last week of April ’10.
this is possibly Ceratophyllum demersum L. (CERATOPHYLLACEAE) !!
Nice water plants from Kulgi.. Keep them coming.
When we cross knee deep river waters in the summer, we encounter and maneuverer many such water plants.
I think its a rich habitat for fishes and others.
I just checked google images for Ceratophyllum. Its a wonderful world out there.
Thank you … Yes it is indeed a wonderful world of its own. We saw a few frogs and fishes inside another water body at Kulgi, unfortunately have not captured the same.
Limnophila heterophylla
Thank you for the ID … Will be grateful if you could inform about a few characteristics to differentiate why it is not Cerotophyllum.
This is Limnophila heterophylla (Roxb.) Benth. as per images and details herein.
