Lygodium palmatum in N. America –
To me all these are same and most likely Lygodium flexuosum.
It is lygodium flexuosum
both L. japonicum and L. flexuosum grow at the Subash Chandra Boase Botanical Garden – I mean the I.B.G., Calcutta. But your photos are flexuosum, I reckon.
The plant is Lygodium flexuosum. But, the name of the garden refered to by … is perhaps not Subhas Chandra Bose Garden, it is Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden (Sir, it is a mix up between names of two famous luminaries of India- both bengalee).
Silly me! I thought the two Boses were both the same person all these years! I had just thought he was a man of exceedingly varied talents and interests! I stand corrected – and thanks! It was easier just to call it the Indian Botanic Garden – maybe in 10 years it will become Mamata’s garden! Same renaming goes on in modern Britain too sometimes – just as long as we never get any “Blair Streets”, I hope!!
Saw this fern climbing on another tree in Pali, Maharashtra on 23/11/12. Except these two pictures, I’ve no more details to add.
I was told its some Climbing Fern.
It might be Lygodium japonicum
On searching the net, the leaves look similar.
Lygodium flexuosum it is.

Lygodium flexuosum – very common, often used to twist into ropes in country houses – to carry fodder bundles. There must be a lot of lost tribals wondering around looking for the way home over there!

? Lygodium flexuosum ?? microphyllum: 3 images.
date: Feb 22
Location: north goa, near water canal.
Habitus- climber. height- 60cm
Is it L. flexuosum : – as per keys:
Stalk of pinnule of similar length along pinnae – L. microphyllum.
Stalks of pinnules decreasing in length towards pinna apex; pinnules non-articulated at base, persistent – L. flexuosum
Tiny baby Lygodium flexuosum. Not useful to collect or photograph. Go for adult plants. Incidentally why “Habitus” – which is in Latin (but then not Locus for the place)? I’d just say Habit?
Too little material shown in photo. L. flexuosum again
