Parnassia nubicola subsp. occidentalis Schönbeck-Temesy;
.
Afghanistan (Kunar / Nuristan), Pakistan (Waziristan, Swat, Hazara, Murree), Jammu & Kashmir (Kashmir, Ladakh), NW-India (Kumaon) as per Catalogue of Life;
.
Common name: Himalayan Bog Star • Hindi: फुटकिया Phutkya • Nepali: मामिरे Mamira
.
Since there is a single leaf on the stem somewhere below half-way, it should be Parnassia nubicola. P. cabulica has leafless stems. Plus there is no reason to believe P. cabulica occurring in this region, nor is it reported in Nepal list.

… is I hope right. at least one leaf is clearly seen. Plus there is no reason to believe P. cabulica occurring in this region, nor is it reported in Nepal list. We must, however, try to look for P. kumaonica reported from the region.

Parnassia nubicola is characterized by a solitary flower borne on a slender stem, with a single stem-clasping leaf arising from below the middle. Parnassia cabulica has leafless stems. From what I can make out, this appears to be P. nubicola.

I fully agree with …

Celastraceae Fortnight: Parnassia nubicola from Chakrata Uttarakhan-GS29 : Attachments (8). 3 posts by 2 authors.
So Parnassia is now in Celastraceae!

Initially I thought that it is an error but then Plant List revealed it so. Takhtajan (2009) placed Parnassiaceae closer to Celastraceae in Celastrales. Earlier placed in Saxifragaceae now it is in Celastraceae also in APweb making a separate group in the family.. Molecular Taxonomy many a times presents the results which are difficult to accept.
However, this small plant with bright white flowers always reminds me high altitude meadows of Himalaya.

I was equally surprised to see it in Celastraceae. Always associated with Saxifragaceae. That is why I uploaded it last.

I almost missed this white saxifrage taking it for a anemone from a distance but thankfully had a closer look. The light was very low through yesterday and the day before on my walk and I managed only average photos. Please validate.
