Polygonum sp. from Paddar valley J&K. 01:
Request for identification

Can this plant be Polygonum tortuosum
Family: Polygonaceae
Location: Paddar valley J&K.
Date: 17th September 2011
Altitude: 2400 meters

Sorry can this plant be Polygonum polystachyum

I hope yes Polygonum polystachyum now correctly known as Persicaria wallichii Greuter & Burdet

Many plants of my area like
Podophyllum hexandrum
Geum elatum
Pteracanthus urticifolius
Tanacetum tibeticum
Bistorta amplexicaulis
Gagea elegans etc.
have different accepted names in The Plant List and in some Indian Plant databases like FRLHT Encyclopedia, Indian Medicinal Plant database, Digital Library of Triditional Knowledge and also in various Indian Plant Literature sources.
Kindly guide me if I can use the accepted names and families of The Plant List in my thesis writing or should I follow the nomenclature as per Indian database.

Polygonum species from Ooty Botanical garden ID Please

Looks like Aconogonon molle.

To me this is more like Persicaria wallichii..

It is Polygonum wallichii only because the inflorescence is short, leaves with 16-20 pairs of nerves.

Recently i visited the place called chandrashila in uthrakand. I have seen these flowers near the tungnath temple. These flowers are so simple but looking great on the site. You may all know this. Please tell me the name of this flower.

Certainly beautifully photographed.
It would be nice if you post pictures after resizing to a reasonable of around 200 Kb size (with min. 800 by 600 pixels) in future.

Please reduce the size of images in future uploads…

These pics belong to Persicaria wallichii a cumbersome high altitude weed..

This beautiful aromatic plant brightened the hillsides above Triund. It was abundant at 3400m and seemed to climb even farther and I guess its tenacity in multiplying has earned it the name ‘weed’ which doesn’t reflect its beauty (similarly the other Persicaria species here which are beautiful, pink P. amplexicaulis is seen in the last but one photo sharing the grounds). Please correct me if I am making a mistake in identifying it.
Persicaria wallichiiHimalayan Knotweed
Above Triund, HP, 3000m and above, 03-04 September 2016

Saw these around Ghangaria and en route Hemkund, Uttarakhand in Aug 2018.
Was seen in very large numbers covering large areas.
In FOI, it is named as Koenigia polystachya.
Kindly validate.

yes, himalayan knotweed, a pesky weed in europe and America. not as bad as the japanese knotweed, but a lesson has to be learned
takes over natural native habitats.
this link shows it has appeared in western ghats also, when etc i do not know
https://www.cabi.org/isc/datasheet/120210  scroll down to half way for the world map. lesson never carry any seeds out or tranplant any alpine plant. wonder if Forrest dept in maharashtra and india and BSI have noted this
