place-ambala cantt
month- may
habitat-garden, fields
habit-herbaceous, erect
stem-herbaceous, weak
height-about 10 cm
leaves-elongated, pointed

This one is from Grass family, Polypogon monspeliensis (Linn.) Desf. common along water channels.

This one is very common grass of the wet places, field margins.. Polypogon monspeliensis (L.) Desf. shot from different locations in Panipat and Kaithal..

Extremely good photographs

It seems to me similar to the grass we children use to collect and dry few weeks before Dashehra and burn it during Ramlila.

Thanks … for liking… probably … is right, this grass grows in plenty and burns very easily after drying…I personally could not participate in this activity, somehow..

Polypogon monspeliensis (Linn.) Desf., Fl. Atlant. 1:67. 1798
