Seen in Sri Lanka.

There seems to be a mistake in the id of these two posts of mine.
…, you had identified earlier as Solanum violaceum.
But my recent post from Bangalore is Solanum violaceum.. it has tiny orange berries.

Kindly recheck.

Taken on the 15th of November, 2010 at a Spice garden in Sri Lanka.

could it be Solanum virginianum L. (Solanum xanthocarpum Schrad.& Wendl.) ???

For me also Solanum virginianum (syn. Solanum xanthocarpum)

I suppose this plant is not Solanum xanthocarpum, rather it can be
Solanum indicum.

Solanum violaceum Orteg (syn: S. indicum Clarke (non L.)
