I photographed this plant on my previous hike near Snowline. It was growing next to a large cluster of Rhododendron campanulatum. I might go again tomorrow to see if there is any further development. Please help identify it.

Probably any Saussurea sp. You can check comparative images at efi site. …, as usual was right in advising to check for a Saussurea species. After his advice, I checked and found that my plant was likely to be Saussurea auriculata and I went up to the mountains where I had found it to see the mature inflorescence. Finding the nodding dark purple flower heads confirmed the initial ID. Please advise. Saussurea auriculata Near Snowline, Above Triund, Dharamshala, HP
