Perhaps, Spinifex littoreus

Yes, it is Spinifex littoreus, male plant.
It is a dioecious plant, that is, male and female inflorescences are found on separate plants. The female inflorescence is spiny and is like a spiny ball which rolls away in wind.
Found on sea shores world wide. Also called rolling dallis grass.

I had seen this in Rajapur (On beach)

എലിമുള്ള് is the correct Malayalam spelling,

Whatever spelling എലിമുള്ളു I have put into compilation is taken from Hermann Gundert’s Malayalam and English dictionary …

The spelling cannot be incorrect, perhaps it is not used any as popularly as എലിമുള്ള്
I will revise my notes shortly using എലിമുള്ള്

About 75 years ago, the printing are in this way as stated by you,
