Tree for identification. Assam : Attachments (2). 6 posts by 4 authors.
This photograph is not great but if the tree species can be identified from its fruits I shall be obliged. This tree is on the road in Kaziranga, Assam. The bark is a splotchy pale in colour.
It looks like a Terminalia sp. to me, more of T. citrina. Pl. check.
The fruits of this species (T.citrina) look similar to T.chebula. How can one differentiate the fruits
To me it seems to be Terminalia chebula.
A reply from another thread from …:
Terminalia species, Kaziranga, Assam = T. citrina.
My question is not answered i.e. How can one differentiate T.citrina from T.chebula.
Please look at the fruits:
Thanks … for updating. As the photographs are not clear I could not differentiate.
