Small Ornamental Bush for ID : Oman : 311012 : AK-1:
This picture is taken a couple of days ago on 29/10/12 in Muscat.

A small, cultivated, ornamental bush with very tiny leaves & flowers.
Flower size about 1 cm.
I seem to know the name but can’t recollect it.
I think it is some Malpighia species.

Could be Cotoneaster microphyllus but not very sure.

flower is not a malphigia

you dont have more pictures? of the whole plant? and fruits?

Thanks for a possible id.
I think I have seen this in Jijamata Udyan, Mumbai too.
It is a very common ornamental plant.
I have never come across fruits.
Will search for more pictures and post.
The flower is so tiny, it is very difficult to get a good picture.

I was able to visit the place again and take more pictures as requested by you last weekend.
Flower is too tiny, may be less than a cm.
It was very difficult to capture it without a macro lens.

… chances of Ehretia microphylla (family Boraginaceae).

You seem to be right.
Leaves & flowers do resemble Ehretia microphylla.
Let us wait for expert validation.

I agree with … id: Ehretia microphylla (= Carmona retusa).

I have seen Cotoneaster microphyllus flowers in California near University of Berkeley and else where. They look slightly different.
