Armed thick fleshy shrubs to trees, stem spirally twisted, 3 angled, spines to 1 cm. Leaves small, deciduous. Cyathia axillary, in clusters; peduncles 0.5 cm; involucre cupular, 3 x 5 mm; glands 5, thick; male flowers in groups of 5; stalk 1.5 mm; female flowers-laterally pendulous; ovary 3 x 7 mm, sharply 3-angled. Capsule 8 mm across. Flowering and fruiting: June-August

photographed in E.ghats. Yes, this is Euphorbia tortilis Rottl. ex Ainsl. found in Peninsular India and Sri Lanka.
The 3-4 angled twisted segments of stem and branches is its unique feature.

It seems Euphorbia caducifolia Haines, but the twisted stem resembles Euphorbia tortilis Rottler ex Ainslie, It may be a variety or a form of E. caducifolia., observed from Manmad area of Nashik dt, Maharashtra
