Small shrub reaching 3 m with lanceolate leaves 5-8 cm long, in whorls or 3-4, entire or slightly toothed in middle, with glandular dots beneath, lemon scented; flowers small white, 4-5 mm across, in spikes forming whorls, axillary or in panicles.

Many thanks everyone for the identification of this Lemon-verbena plant. This plant is useful as a lemon flavour in Tea, fish etc.
This can be narrowed down to Aloysia triphylla (L’Herit.) Britton of Verbenaceae. Native of Brazil and Argentina.
Common name: Lemon beebush

I don’t think there should be any confusion. According to KEW Plant List it is synonym of Aloysia citridora Palau
According to Tropicos the plant is synonym of Aloysia citridora Palau as per Zuloaga, F. O. 1997. Catálogo de las plantas vasculares de la Argentina. Monogr. Syst. Bot. Missouri Bot. Gard. 74(1-2): 1–1331. whereas it is synonym of Lippia triphylla (L’Her.) Kuntze according to Macbride, J. F. 1960. Verbenaceae, Flora of Peru. Publ. Field Mus. Nat. Hist., Bot. Ser. 13(5/2): 609–721.
Of the two former is more recent publication (1997). This plus KEW Plant list should settle A. citridora Palau as correct name for the plant.
