India (Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal), Vietnam as per Catalogue of Life; Evergreen climbing shrubs, usually glabrous, stem woody, grayish brown, branchlets terete. Leaves lanceolate-elliptic, oblong-elliptic or narrow ovate, 8-15 x 2-6 cm across, base cuneate or attenuate, margins subentire or faintly distantly toothed, apex deeply acute or shallow acuminate, soft and rather fleshy and pale beneath, glabrous, lateral veins 6-10 on either side of the midrib, almost parallel, impressed above, prominent on midrib beneath, reticulate veinlets, petiole glabrous, reddish maroon, about 1.5-3.5 cm long, exstipulate. Flowers 1-4, fragrant, yellowish white or red, sometimes with 1-2 secondary bracts, about 2.5 cm across. Male flowers: Perianth segments 7-8 in 3 series, pale pink or white, broadly elliptic or obovate, 1-2 x 0.5-1.5 cm across, pedicels about 1-4 cm long, Stamens about 30-50, outer filaments short, free, stamina column ovoid or cylindric above, about 10-15 mm long, anthers oblong or ovoid, 2-3 mm long, connectives thickened. Female flowers: Perianth as male, carpels 60-120, ovoid, about 1.5 x 0.75 mm with about 0.5 mm long appendage. Fruiting receptacle, about 15-20 cm long, and 4-7 mm thick, peduncle about 3-7 cm long, fleshly, usually bearing 30-80, ellipsoid, fruitlets about 7-9 x 5-6 mm across, seeds 1-2, suborbicular or ellipsoid. Mixed and temperate forests of northwestern and eastern Himalayas, altitude of about 2,100-4,000 m.

This genus, falling under family Schisandraceae, has been earlier dealt under family Magnoliaceae.

I think then Michelia champaca in the heading is wrong. Yes, there is a mistake. The name in the title should have been Schisandra grandiflora.
Beautiful addition, Sir. Where was it growing ? Some where in Himachal Pradesh. … can tell us the exact place.

Did not find any match for Vitaceae.
Actually, leaves are not matching to any of Vitaceae.
It reminds me of Sapium insigne, but it’s just a wild guess as I can’t see if this is a tree or a shrub. It is not Sapium insigne.
