Litsea glutinosa (Lour.) C.B.Rob.? SN May 23 : 7 posts by 6 authors. Attachments (3).
Litsea glutinosa (Lour.) C.B.Rob, Fam: Lauraceae;
medium sized wild tree, near Gudalur, Ooty Tamilnadu

I have a doubt that this is Litsea glutinosa

More similar to L. stocksii

?? Litsea laevigata Gamble

slightly sulcate leaves are fascicles infruitescence – both somehow direct me towards this.

I think this is Litsea glutinosa – Attachments (2)

Can it be Litsea wightiana (Nees) Hook. f. or is it some other species like L. stocksii ?

Litsea wightiana (Nees) Hook. f., Fl. Brit. India 5: 177 (1886).
= Cylicodaphne wightiana Nees in Wall., Pl. Asiat. Rar. 2: 68 (1831).

This is neither Litsea wightiana Hook, since the similarity can only be assigned to Litsea wightiana Hook var tomentosa. but the nature of the specimen especially the pubescence clearly indicate this is not Litsea wightiana Hook and there are many other reason refer to Gamble or the type specimens.
nor this is L. stocksii basaed on the nature of veins, perianth cup etc…. i wll try to get it clarified, a close image of the leaves and stem can help
