I was looking for the origin of species epithet of this, but couldnt find.
“annandalei” sounds like Indian so I was just curious.
If anyone can help, I would be grateful.

1) there are many places by the name Annandale
2) at least one personality by the name … N. Annandale, Indian sponge specialist in the first half of the 20th century, who did some important monographs on Asian freshwater sponges, as well as some studies on Indian marine sponges, notably excavating sponges.

Thats nice. It has to be name of a person for sure. You may be right.
I will have to find out. I imagine why they will name a plant after some one who works on fresh water sponges. May be they did !!!

…, maybe you should ask the Thais or the Malays on Facebook if they had anyone by that name because most of their names are also Indianized since their religious scriptures are in Pali.

I am so happy that I could help you with some thing concerning orchids, my zero knowledge group:
annandalei: for T.N.Annandale (+ of), who was the Superintendent of the Indian Museum, Calcutta (listed as orig.coll. with H.C.Robinson, see robinsonii). ex Thailand, cf. Bulbophyllum annandalei Ridl.1920.
