This plant was photographed on 7th Sep 2011 at 3.19 pm which was growing wild at Pune Had posted this plant for identification on 9th Sep 2011 efloraofindia:”For Id 09092011MR1’’ climber with violet flowers Pune Previous identification by Giby ji May be Ipomoea calophylla Fenzl. Syn: Ipomoea dichroa of Convolvulaceae family. —————————————————————————————————————- Reddish twining stem without hair; heart shaped and trilobed leaves without hair approx dimensions 10-11cms X 7-8 cms cms; hairy calyx basally; pink to brown hairy capsule; could not find an open flower, was entangled with another climber and covered with many insects Can it be Ipomoea triloba? The entire description is that of Ipomoea cordatotriloba and the sepals and capsule fit Ipomoea cordatotriloba exactly.
