Keys:
Talinum triangulare is sometimes confused with Talinum portulacifolium, but the latter differs by its paniculate inflorescence with terete axis, sepals not prominently veined and smooth seeds as per Prota4U (Talinum triangulare (Jacq.) Willd. syn. of Talinum fruticosum (L.) Juss.)

Talinum portulacifolium is sometimes confused with Talinum triangulare, which is also used as a vegetable. The latter species differs in its pink flowers arranged in cymes on triangular stalks, sepals prominently 3-veined and tuberculate seeds as per Prota4U (Talinum portulacifolium)

Talinum triangulare (Jacq.) Willd. (India: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, introduced from Sri Lanka; Native of tropical America, now a pantropical weed) = Talinum fruticosum (L.) Juss.

.

The complete account of Talinum species in India is available in the following document-
Rao, M.K.V. 1993. Portulacaceae. In: Sharma, B.D., Sanjappa, M. and Balakrishnan, N.P. (eds.) Flora of India. Vol-3. B. S. I., Calcutta, Pp.1-10.
This document (Rao, 1993) provides generic description, keys for identification, description of species, flowering and fruiting season and
distribution.
As per this information following two species are found in India-
1- Talinum portulacifolium (Forsskal) Asch. ex Schweinf.
2- T. triangulare (Jacq.) Willd. [synonym of Talinum fruticosum (L.) Juss.]
Both these species are similar in appearance and can only be differentiated by the character that leaf apex is emarginated or mucronate in T. triangulare while leaf apex is apiculate in T. portulacifolium.

I have updated eFI (efloraofindia) page on Talinum

Attempts have been made to incorporate most of the species available in India & nearby areas with details & keys directly or through links as far as possible. It’s quite possible that there may be some discrepancy in the accepted names & synonyms taken from other links.

Species discussed so far in efloraofindia are given at the bottom of the page in the form of links against Subpages. On clicking them one can see all the details.

If someone can provide complete list of Indian species with source references it will be wonderful.

Any comments/ corrections are welcome.

I have added list of Indian species of Talinum and Portulaca based on Flora of India Vol-3.
