What plant? ABAPR01/06 : 3 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (3)
This one has beautiful leaves. The buds are still closed. Is it possible to guess its identity?
Else I will wait for the blooms and report back.

9 April 2015

Let us wait for the flowers to open..may be any Senecio..

Thank you … I will keep vigil and report later.

This same plant has finally flowered and I took some pictures today. I am also including some more photos to show various characteristics of the plant to help with the ID. Please advise. 4 images.

Likely to be Centratherum punctatum.

yellow  Centratherum punctatum??/
I dont think so they are violet flowers and leaves in … case  are not that of C. puctatum
If anything this may be  a golden ragwort or its nearby relative (senecio aureus)
even in usa where a lot of the ragworts have been described, many remain to be classified and described…
so I cant be sure specifically, but the leaves esp # 2 and 4 latest pics,  and now the yellow disc  = ragwort

Senecio species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available)

Could this be Senecio nudicaulis?

It may be Senecio nudicaulis.

Thank you … I do think it is Senecio nudicaulis.
