A very distinctive species, a prostrate or decumbent hispid annual herb; stipules linear; leaves opposite, almost sessile, softly hairy on both surfaces, base obliquely rounded, margin sharply serrulate; cyathia solitary axillary or on short leafy shoots; glands 4, purplish, rounded-ovate with a broad white appendage; capsule strongly keeled, sparsely hairy.
