Rutaceae Week, follow-up, “Names of Plants in India”, 4th instalment: Here are some transcripted names that must be correct for they come from a Tamil speaking botanist. We have communication problems because he is using a font I cannot display. In time we’ll be able to cross ref. our names. In the meantime let’s try to transcribe the following. Please point out anything that does not look correct. I have many other names but I do not wish to muddy the water at this stage.
XXXX Thesikaai -> Citrus × aurantiifolia (Christm. & Panz.) Swingle
I have tried to transcribe those names which I am familiar with…
Rutaceae Week – Citrus – feedback – 7th Instalment: Here are the names in Oriya that I have on hand. One I cannot transcribe. There are 2 or 3 disagreements among the authors consulted so far..

I was not aware of this dictionary… or that it was open. There are a few more coming from Digital Dictionaries of South Asia. They are waiting for the lawyers to sort the copyrights problems. These dictionaries are good but a little out-dated when it comes to horticulture. This is where groups like efloraofindia come in to fill the gaps. It is all very exciting.
Rutaceae week – Citrus – more questions: Could someone explain this: সাতকরা Sātakarā (Assamese) -> ( Citrus macroptera var. assamensis )
Rutaceae Week – Citrus – Malayalam names: I am beginning to feel the pressure (the enormous efforts invested in Euphorbia were very much worthwhile though) so I am sorry to offer this “dog breakfast”. Please help as much as possible by editing this list in the usual way. Thanks
