Asparagus sp., I suppose

yes Sir Asparagus

Herb ID request – RK20 – 16-Oct-2012:    Would really like to know the id of this herb with very slim trifoliate leaves in Mumbai. I haven’t seen it flower.

This is an Asparagus fern.

… these are not trifoliate leaves. each needle like structure is branch of one internode length called cladode. The leaves are highly reduced and appear as small scales subtending cladodes. Of course it is Asparagus, but not a fern, rather a monocot angiosperm.

Could again be Asparagus racemosus

It is not Asparagus adscendens.
Identifying features for Asparagus adscendens: Cladodes erect, 6-20 in each tuft, prickles straight.
