Youngia japonica from Kaithal-2012: …… Shot from my Village in Kaithal-Haryana in January 2012. Kindly validate/correct the id….

I don’t think it is Youngia japonica, which has much reduced hardly one or two cauline leaves and basal leaves are lyrate-pinnatifid.

Achenes should help in identification.

This should rather be Ixeris polycephala Cass., F.Cuvier, Dict. Sci. Nat. 24: 50, 1822, syn. Lactuca polycephala (Cass.) .B. Clarke. I hope I am right this time….
