Found this grass in my homeyard.
Species : UNKNOWN
Habit & Habitat : height about 2 feet, leaf 4.8 cm X 4 mm; home-yard, also in playground
Date : 6/7/12, 12.16 P.M.
Place : Hooghly

I took a herbarium of this grass to BSI Shibpur today. It has been identified as Sporobolus diandrus
though authentication could not be done with seal & signature because i didn’t maintain proper protocol.

Yes. Sporobolus diander. Some authors consider it as Sporobolus indicus var. diander.
It is called Drop Seed in English. Common in waste places.
