Nepeta linearis Royle ex Benth., Hooker’s J. Bot. Kew Gard. Misc. 3: 377 1833. (Syn: Glechoma linearis (Royle ex Benth.) Kuntze);
Perennial herb similar to N. connata in appearance but with much narrower linear leaves, neither cordate nor connate at base, almost sessile flowers, smaller calyx (9-10 mm long as against 11-16 mm long), smaller corolla (12-15 mm long as against 20-25 mm long). stems ariing from tuberous rootstock, up to 50 cm tall; leaves opposite, linear, 3-8 cm long, up to 5 mm long, hairy beneath; inflorescence oblong; bracts linear-subulate; pedicel 1-2 mm long; calyx purplish 9-10 mm long; corolla blue to purplish pink, 12-15 mm long, tube exserted.
Common on forest slopes below Gulomarg, Kashmir
Do you by any chance have the whole plant pic… one more nepeta .. lovely violet flowers… Although name catmint may be loosely used for all species of Nepeta, strictly speaking it belongs to Nepeta cataria (also name as catnip).
