Tree for identification 260712MK01:

Please help me to identify this tree found in rain forests of Vaalparai in Western Ghats.
I could locate proper flowers of this. and the winged fruits measures up to 4cm across. Leaves about 15cm longer.
Could this be any Dipterocarp?

It is a Diospyros species.


The fruits are c.3cm across. I have attached the pictures of fruits here.

Yes, after seeing the fruits I realized it is not Diospyros. … should be right…


Many thanks for confirming this species. But isn’t Dimorphocalyx beddomei an endemic to Agasthiyarmalai (Tirunelveli dist.)?
