Small plant for ID :: Ghangria-VOF, Uttarakhand :: Aug 2018 :: ARKSEP-10 : 8 posts by 4 authors. Attachments (2) Thanks, … I feel from Commelinaceae /species/a—l/cl/commelinaceae I think I know this plant, but cant remember the name. Something like Polygonatum. Not orchid, neither Commelinaceae.
Smilacina purpurea now Maianthemum purpureum (Asparagaceae) to me. It is an early summer blooming her so I suppose the structures on the axis are fruits.
Interestingly, we do not have any upload of this species in eFI.
It is edible as leafy vegetable as told by some herdsmen in Uttarakhand.
Thanks … so much for the ID. These may be fruits as you indicate.
FOI has 2 entries – white flowers and purplish flowers. They look very pretty.
Glad to provide the first pics on efi. Correct Nepali Names : खिरिङ्लो Khiringlo / सिकारी साग Sikaaree Saag . Maianthemum purpureum?? in Uttarakhand: 9 images. Seen this herb enroute Dev-Kyara trek route in Uttarakhand.
Could this be Maianthemum purpureum?? Pl validate.. Very nice images and good details captured. Yes, this is Maianthemum purpureum in one of its other color forms. Some regions have just white flowered plants, and others are the brownish-purple color. That pale pink is very pretty. . References:
