Sanvitalia procumbens Lam., 176 1792. (Syn: Laurentia atropurpurea Steud.; Lorentea atropurpurea Ortega; Sanvitalia acinifolia DC.; Sanvitalia procumbens var. oblongifolia DC.; Sanvitalia villosa Cav.; Zexmenia thysanocarpa Donn.Sm.);
20072011GS1 a cultivated herb from Kashmir for ID: Small cultivated herb grown in Botanical garden, below Cheshmashahi in Kashmir; looks like a miniature sunflower hardly 2.5 cm across, with small 2-3 cm long leaves. Gardener gave the name something like sanuicalia. Does it give any clue about its identity? Sanvitalia procumbens of Asteraceae, the creeping Zinnia
Thankfully finally got it identified from Facebook Group Medicinal Plants of Kashmir Himaliya by … Yes, I too have clicked this last week at Shalimar garden.
… is right. No doubt, it is Sainivitalia procumbens (creeping zinnia).
