Commelina for ID : Sri Lanka : 081112 : AK-2: Another Commelina seen in Sri Lanka on 16/11/2010.
Species id please.

Thank you for sharing interesting Commelina species from Sri Lanka. None of Commelina species is endemic to Sri Lanka, even though its difficult to ID. If you have few more pictures (lateral view of spathe) then it will be helpful.

Possible ID for this is Commelina petersii Hassk., 🙂 But again…I have doubt in my mind regarding flower colour. …Anyway this could be Commelina petersii

Thanks again for the id. I’m sorry these are the only pictures I have.

I guess … is right : GBIF

This appears to be Commelina pertersii.
