Brassicaceae Week: Hirschfeldia incana from California: Hirschfeldia incana (L.) Lagrèze-Fossat, Fl. Tarn Garonne. 19. 1847.

Common names: Hairy brassica, hoary mustard
Annual herb similar in appearance to Sisymbrium officinale with similar appressed fruits but differing in leaves without hastate terminal lobe, larger flowers with 5-10 mm long petals which are 3-5 mm broad, 7-15 mm long fruit with two segments, lower bearing 8-20 seeds and terminal swollen segment bearing 1-2 seeds.
