Nilgiris: Plant for identification 011212MK03: Please help me in identification of this herb found among the grasslands of high altitude Nilgiris. Is this any Gentianaceae?
Leaf: 3 cm long:
Flower: 1 cm across
Date: 24 Oct 2012
Place: Mukruthi NP, Nilgiris, TN
Alt.: 3565 m asl

Could it be Swertia species?

it looks like Swertia corymbosa

Many thanks … ,
This plant can be confirmed as Swertia corymbosa (Griseb.) Wight ex C.B. Clarke of Gentianaceae. The main reason being presence of a single nectary at the base of each petal along with sessile leaves. Still this has two varieties, I do not know which one.
