34th Tree Appreciation Walk in Heritage Garden of Hiranandani Gardens, Powai on 6th Jan,2013:
As the Sun moves from Dakhshinayan (Tropics of Capricorn) to Uttarayan (Tropics of Cancer)…… It is said as the ‘holy phase of transition’………and while all of us prepare to celebrate Makkar Sankrant, Pongal, Lodi, festivals respectively..….we too decided to move away (for time being),from the forest trails of SGNP and enter the beautiful gardens of Mumbai……. Moreover, the fruiting of Rudraksh tree compelled us to take the Tree Appreciation Walk in Heritage Garden in Powai and share the pleasure with all of you……Heritage Garden also houses large number of Palms…….many of them are flowering & fruiting……Flowers of Muchkund (Pterospermum suberifolium) and Rajanigandha (Polianthes tuberosa) have competition in their whiteness……We invite all of you to have, a Tree Appreciation Walk in the Heritage Garden on 6thJan,13 with us…… The 34thth walk is on Sunday 6th Jan, 2013 Venue: Heritage Garden in Hiranandani Gardens, Powai Time: 7.30 am Duration of walk: 2 hours Driving direction to the garden: There are 3 municipal gardens in Hiranandani Powai, we are going to take walk in Heritage Garden, unfortunately this name is not mentioned anywhere on the gate of the garden. It is on Cliff Avenue between Heritage Towers & Verona buildings and opposite Glen Towers. All the three building are quite famous in that area. From IIT main gate or Andheri (E) stn or Ghatkopar (W) stn Bus 392 i.e. 392 between Andheri (E) stn and Ghatkopar (W) goes via Hirnandani Gardens. Rickshaw: from IIT Main Gate to Pizza -Galleria – D’Mart – Heritage Tower bldg which is one sideof our Heritage Garden, next to Verona and opposite Glen Towers on Cliff Avenue. 6th Jan,13 Tree Appreciation Walk postponed to 20th Jan,13: We regret to inform you that our Tree Appreciation Walk which was scheduled for 6th Jan,13 has been postpone to 20th Jan,13 as the” Powai Marathon” is taking place in Hiranadani Gardens,Powai and so access to Heritage Garden by car has been restricted. |
