Which one to Purchase- Nikon D3100 or Canon EOS 1100D or Sony SLT- A35 or Olympus PEN E-PM1:
In the Month finally i am going to purchase a DSLR Camera with budget limited to 35000/- I have selected following
1. Canon EOS 1100 D Canon EOS 1100D w/Canon 18-55mm IS Lens
2. Nikon D3100 Nikon D3100 W/18-55mm VR Lens
3. Sony SLT- A35 Sony SLT – A35 W/18-55mm Lens
4. Olympus PEN E-PM1 Olympus PEN E-PM1 W/14-42mm Lens
Pls suggest which one to buy keeping in mind photography of plants especially macro shots
Also pls if any other model is in range suggests. I have to purchase by 24 Feb so have to take decision soon.
Both Canon 1100D and Nikon D3100 are the same price around 29000, Canon is 12.2 MP but with HD movie recording; Nikon 1414.2 ordinary movie recording.
Sony SLT is good choice though 6000 costlier. has 7fps HD recording, live view and 16.2 MP
Today I had gone to the market to make final choice. Initially I had though about Nikon or Canon, but then though in that case my normal sony lens (Rs. 5000), Telephoto lens (Rs 15000), Minolta leans (Rs. 4000) and extension tubes (Rs. 5000) will go waste and had almost decided about Sony SLT A35K, or Sony SLT A55L, but then thought of giving a try at Sony service centre. Perhaps they may repair mine Alpha 100, and spare me additional purchase for the moment.
I am attaching my compilation of comparisons.
Thanks for quick response Sir From Your analysis I think following choice may prove good
Sorry for replying late. My preference would be Nikon D3100 http://www.dpreview.com/products/nikon/slrs/nikon_d3100
thank Canon EOS 1100D http://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/slrs/canon_eos1100d
mainly because of Nikon has 14.2 MP effective pixels on APS-C (23.1 x 15.4 mm) sensor (more pixels on a bigger sensor) when compared to the
12.2 MP effective pixels on APS-C (22.2 x 14.8 mm) sensor of Canon EOS 1100D
If the macro lenses of Nikkon is not affordable (which is bit costly) then think of Sigma or Tamaron.
Thanks a lot … After looking at the attached flie and link I am seriously thinking to go with Nikon D5100 although it is bit costly. This has some imp features 1. GPS attachment 2. Bracketing feature 3. Custom settings
Due to its higher cost i am not able to afford Nikkor lenses
Members pls suggest any other good quality 55-300 mm / 50-500 mm range with less price without compromising much with quality
More importantly you can shoot high quality video with Nikon D 5100. Good choice. But GPS attachment you have to buy seperately. It is not a big deal when you get a very accurate measurement with Google earth. Please try Sigma (http://www.sigmaphoto.com/shop/telephoto-zoom-lenses), Tamaron (http://www.tamron.com/en/photolens/di_telephoto/a005.html)
After a lot of thinking, I thought of going in for Sony SLT A35. This way I won’t have to discard my normal Sony 18-70 lens, Tamron 70-315 telephoto lens and Minolta 30-70 lens with macro and my extension tubes. I may finalise in a day or two. Sir I got sanctioned Rs 40000 from UGC to buy a Camera and now waiting for money to be released. as I have nothing and to purchase all afresh so more worry. After many discussion I finalised Nikon D5100 with 70-300 Nikkor Lens. As per site of Nikon total price is 44635 AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G (4.3x) : 6185.00
DSLR D5100 (Body Only):37450.00
Is it possible to bargain to lower the total price within price range of 40,000.00
Any Suggestion where to buy with bill offcourse
