Dendrobium bullenianum Rchb.f., Bot. Zeitung (Berlin) 20: 214 1862. (syn: Dendrobium chrysocephalum Kraenzl.; Dendrobium erythroxanthum Rchb.f.; Dendrobium topaziacum Ames); Dendrobium bullenianum is a member of the family Orchidaceae found in the Philippines and Vietnam.[2] It is named in honor of Mr. Bullen, orchid cultivator with Low & Co.’s nursery,[3] who was first in Britain get this species to flower in cultivation.[4] It is pendulous and sympodial with 1 meter long pseudobulbs of 1.5 cm thickness and deciduous leaves of 10 cm by 1.5 cm.[4] Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach was the first to describe this species in 1862 in Botanische Zeitung.[5] It is found as an epiphyte in elevations up to 1,000 metres in Luzon and Mindoro in the Philippines.[2] (From Wikipedia 0n 12.4.13) ORCHIDACEAE Juss.: Dendrobium bullenianum Rchb.f. from KFBG, Hong Kong. : 1 image. 4 posts by 4 authors.
